When can your pet come with you?
Japan and Thailand have strict rules for dogs and cats. Enter your pet's microchip and vaccine dates and see the earliest day they can land, with every deadline on the way.
What we do, and what only you can do
Officials need to see your pet and your vet's signature. Everything else is paperwork, and that part we handle.
We handle
- The timeline: every date worked back from your flight, with reminders.
- The checks: we read your vaccine record and flag anything that would get your pet held.
- The Thai import permit: we fill the form and send it to the airport quarantine station for you.
- The paperwork for your vet: your pet's details, ready for the health certificate.
You and your vet do
- Vet visits: microchip, vaccines, blood test and the final health check need your pet in person.
- Official endorsement: your vet sends the health certificate to your government (USDA in the US) to be stamped.
- Arrival: you take your pet and the printed papers to the quarantine counter at the airport.
Pricing
Government permits cost little or nothing. You pay us to get the dates and paperwork right, so your pet isn't held at the airport. Full-service pet movers usually charge several thousand dollars.

Questions
Do you really submit the Thai application for me?
Yes. Thailand's quarantine stations accept import permit applications by email, and pet relocation companies routinely apply for their clients. You sign an authorisation, we send the application from our office and copy you on every email.
Can you replace my vet?
No. Only a vet can examine your pet, give vaccines, take blood and sign the health certificate. We make sure those visits happen on the right dates and that your vet has the details they need.
Why does Japan take so long?
Japan requires two rabies vaccines, a blood test from a designated lab, and then a 180-day wait counted from the blood draw. If any step is missed, a pet can be held for up to 180 days at the owner's cost.
Does this work if I fly from Australia, New Zealand or Hawaii to Japan?
Not yet. Japan treats a few rabies-free places differently, with no blood test or 180-day wait. Our calculator covers the standard rules for everywhere else.
Is this official?
No. PetsCleared is an independent service. The decision at the border is always the quarantine officer's.
